About these terms and the site owner

DrivingItHome.co.uk is owned and maintained by Prudent Plus Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 10104295. Our address is Booths Hall, Booths Park, Chelford Road, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 8GS.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it. Our privacy policy explains how information may be handled. Separate terms apply if you follow a link to another website or request an insurance quotation.

We may change these terms to reflect changes to the site, our business arrangements or the law. The version displayed here applies from the time it is published. A change to these website terms does not alter an insurance contract made with another business.

The information we provide

The articles and checklists are general editorial information for UK motorists. They are intended to help readers identify matters worth checking when viewing, buying, collecting or driving a vehicle. They are not financial advice, legal advice, mechanical advice, an inspection of a particular car or a personal recommendation.

Vehicle condition, policy wording and individual circumstances vary. Before acting, check the current position with the relevant authority, insurer, seller or suitably qualified professional. In particular, you remain responsible for confirming that a vehicle is insured for the correct driver and use, taxed where necessary, covered by a valid MOT where required and roadworthy at the time it is driven.

We take reasonable care when preparing content, but cannot promise that every page is complete, error-free or suitable for every situation. Rules, official procedures, web addresses and product terms can change. If you notice a material error, the contact page explains how to tell us.

Insurance quotations and our commercial relationship

Prudent Plus Limited does not operate the quotation system, assess insurance risk, decide eligibility, set premiums, take payment, issue policies, provide policy documents, make changes to cover or deal with claims. Quotation links lead to a service operated by Ramasis Limited of 28 Station Close, Potters Bar, Hertfordshire EN6 1TL.

Ramasis Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under firm reference number 306294 and is registered in England and Wales under company number 04670555. Prudent Plus Limited has a trading agreement only with Ramasis Limited. We may receive commission if a policy is bought through this website. That commission will not increase the premium charged to the customer.

Following a link or completing a form does not guarantee that a quotation or policy will be offered. Eligibility, price, cover, exclusions, excess, cancellation rights and payment are determined under the provider’s terms and the insurer’s policy documents. Cover exists only when the provider confirms that it is in force. Read the quotation and policy information carefully before buying.

Using the website responsibly

You may use the site for lawful, personal information purposes. You must not attempt to interfere with its operation, bypass security, introduce harmful code, obtain unauthorised access, use automated requests that place an unreasonable load on the service, or use the site in a way that infringes another person’s rights.

Do not treat the website as evidence that you are legally entitled to drive. A page cannot check your licence, policy, vehicle or journey. You should not delay urgent professional, insurer, police or emergency assistance because of something read here.

If you choose to print or save a checklist, check the live page before relying on an old copy. You are responsible for the accuracy of information you give to an insurer or other service. Deliberately or carelessly supplying incorrect information can affect a quotation or policy.

Copyright and external websites

Unless stated otherwise, the original text, layout, branding and other material on DrivingItHome.co.uk belong to Prudent Plus Limited or are used with permission. You may view the pages and print or save a reasonable extract for your own non-commercial use. You may link to a public page fairly and lawfully.

You must not copy a substantial part of the site, republish articles, remove ownership notices, create a misleading association with us, or use our content commercially without prior written permission. Government information and third-party material remain subject to their respective rights.

External links are included because they may be useful or because they lead to the quotation service. We do not control external websites and are not responsible for their availability, security or content. A link is not an endorsement of every statement, product or service on the destination website.

Availability, responsibility and applicable law

We aim to keep the site available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance, security work or reasons outside our control. We may update, suspend or withdraw parts of the site. No particular article or quotation link is guaranteed to remain available.

To the extent permitted by law, Prudent Plus Limited is not responsible for loss caused solely by reliance on general editorial information where the reader has not checked their own documents, vehicle or circumstances. We are not responsible for the quotation service, an insurer’s decision, the performance of an insurance policy, a vehicle bought from a third party or the acts of a seller, dealer, auction, transporter or external website.

Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation. Nothing here removes any statutory rights you may have as a consumer.

These terms and any non-contractual dispute concerning the website are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except that a consumer living elsewhere in the UK may also have rights to bring proceedings in the part of the UK where they live.
